Most attentive, caring specialist! From first consultation until surgery and aftercare, Mr Malik was amazing. He goes to great pains to explain the need for the procedure, the surgery itself and the aftercare. Throughout, I felt safe and very well supported. His surgery was absolutely successful and I would happily have a second surgery in his care.

After suffering debilitating chronic pain from my knee due to arthritis for several years, I finally made it onto the table for a total knee replacement. I had listened to horror stories about new knees from friends of friends and was a little sceptical, however I had my operation on the NHS at Rowley Hall and Mr Malek was my surgeon. I have never looked back since. The operation and my recovery went smoothly. I felt involved at all stages of the process and understood what was happening, as well as the role I had to play in my recovery to maximise the benefits of a new knee ie complete the recommended exercises to keep the new joint flexible. I have a very active job in a prison environment and I have now been able to return to my role pain free and feel fitter than in the last few years. I am now on the list for my other knee and didn’t hesitate to ask for Mr Malek.

Mr Malek was very informative with his prognosis and discussed options for my treatment. At 60 years of age I had arthritis in my knee this gave me pain and stiffness in it so I was given a partial knee replacement. The operation has been life changing, no more pain or stiffness, the scar is almost unnoticeable. Thank you Mr Malek and your team for the outstanding care you all gave me.

Mr Malek put me at ease from the very moment that he met me. I was a bit scared of the procedure but being treated as a person and not a commodity was the best experience i could have wished for. Everything was explained about what was involved and what to expect and the encouragement i received with the follow up appointments was just what i needed. He gave me a choice either suffer with pain or have a hip replacement and be pain free. If i needed to have the other hip replaced i wouldn't hesitate to have Mr Malek to do the operation. He has changed my life totally and i am eternally grateful. Thank you.

What can I say that others haven't already said. Mr Malek is the nicest consultant I've ever seen. He is friendly and makes you feel at ease straight away. I originally saw Mr Malek for a knee injury caused by a fall. After a small operation my knee felt better but I was still having trouble with pain. After a discussion, Mr Malek recommended a partial knee replacement. My mom watched my grandad in the early 1990's having problems with his knees and having a knee replacement which left him with a stiff leg and unable to walk, said she wouldn't have a knee replacement, even though she had severe arthritis in both knees and was in a great deal of pain. This made me determined not to go through the same as she had even though I was still worried that something would go wrong. BUT Mr Malek explained everything and I felt confident enough to trust him. I wish that everyone with knee problems could see Mr Malek, so he could work his magic on them. I have now got my life back and am pain free. MR Malek you are my hero.
